HISTORIC CABBAGE TREES.—The Canterbury Pilgrims and Early Settlers’ Association has provided this stone wall and seating round the historic clump of cabbage trees in the Burnside High School grounds, which were an early landmark of the Maoris and which appear in the school crest. A plaque telling the story will be unveiled at a ceremony later in the year.
