“Pleasure’s Rewards,” which screens on Sunday evening, is described as a music-drama. According to the producer, John Charles, “Pleasure’s Rewards” is essentially a music programme in the guise of an illustrated lecture on the evils of tobacco, musicians, and alcohol. Songs of the late sixteenth century are contrasted with the writings of King James I and the Puritan, Phillip Stubbes. Providing the music are Robert Oliver and Andrea Oliver (above). Jeremy Stephens is Phillip Stubbes, and lan Watkin produces the voice of King James.
