■The late Mr. Peter McSkimming. Scotland in 1878 and was educated in Otago. Later, after some years of experience in brick and pipe wojrks, he, with his father, took over the works of John Nelson, and they were developed in many directions. Mr. McSkimming was a member and office-bearer of the Presbyterian Church. In commercial life he had been chairman of directors of a number of important companies.
