HARRIERS’ SUCCESS

CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS Two members of the Hamilton Harrier Club ran prominently in the New Zealand cross-country championships at Dunedin on Saturday. W. J. Potter was the winner and E. K. Trow finished fifth. The Hamilton club held a run over a course of four miles from the residence of Mr and Mrs A. Bogue. of Oakley Avenue Results were: Slow pack, C. Thompson 1. G. Wood 2. P. Wood 3; fast pack, P de la Mare 1. A. Dunlop 2, E. Batten and K Cairns dead-heat 3. Next Saturday a “ round the bridges ” race of 7Va miles will be conducted in Hamilton for the first time. The course will be of two laps, the runners starting at the chief post office and first proceeding north to the Fairfield bridge. There will be about 60 starters. The race will start at 3 p.m. and a commentary will be given throughout.
