FORMAL LIBERATION
INTERNEES IN SHANGHAI LONDON, Aug. 18 The Swiss Charge d’Affairs in Shanghai has cabled the British Foreign Office stating that British, American and Dutch subjects interned in Shanghai district were formally liberated last Wednesday. The internees, owing to accommodation difficulties and to avoid disorder, were recommended to remain in camp for some days pending the arrival of Allied troops. The situation is perfectly calm
