POSTED MISSING
WAIKATO AIRMAN Flying-Officer R. J. Odgers, of Komakorau, who has been posted as missing on flying operations, was formerly employed in the New Zealand Dairy Company’s transport department and later conducted his own carrying business. He joined the Air Force in June, 1942 and gained his wings in New’ Zealand. He went to England last year and trained as a bomber pilot, gaining his commission in June of this year. FlyingOfficer Odgers was educated at the Komakorau School and the Hamilton High School.
Bombardier Cyril Herbert Miller, recently reported killed in action, was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs G. Miller, of Waipawa, and his wife resides in Rostrevor Street, Hamilton. He was educated in Hawke’s Bay and at Victoria University College, Wellington, afterward being employed by the Mortgage Corporation at Auckland and Hamilton. He left New Zealand with an early reinforcement draft and was serving with an artillery unit at the time of his death.
