BROADCASTS BY NOVELIST ENGLISH HUMORIST’S REFUSAL LONDON, Nov. 22 Mr P. G. Wodehouse, humorist and novelist, and his wife, who have been interned in Paris since the beginning of the war, have been released conditionally. They must live under surveillance over 60 miles from Paris. A previous message stated: Mr Wodehouse and his wife were arrested by the French authorities in Paris. It is recalled that Mr Wodehouse gave several broadcasts over the Berlin radio dealing with his camp experiences whilst interned. He, however, declared after the liberation of France: “I refused all offers to do propaganda broadcasts.”
