PREPARATIONS BY GERMANS LONDON, Oct. 29 The Germans are preparing to leave Salonika, chief port on the north-east coast of Greece. Allied airmen can see smoke from German demolitions blowing over the city. Our forward units in Greece have reached the area of Kazani, 45 miles from the Yugoslav border, where they are harassing the retreating enemy, writes a Rome correspondent. On Sunday afternoon many enemy guns and mortars, were silenced when our artillery’bombarded German positions close to the town.
