WAIKATO BOWLING
HAMILTON BEATS CAMBRIDGE The Hamilton Bowling Club on Saturday paid a visit to Cambridge with a big contingent of 60 players. The match was won by Hamilton by 10. games to four, one game being a draw. The aggregate points were: Hamilton 308, Cambridge 257. Before the match the Cambridge president, Mr V. G. Boulton, extended a welcome to the visitors, this having been preceded by a march of the Hamilton players through two drawn-up lanes of Cambridge players from the gateway to the pavilion. Mr Boulton referred to the fact that the history of both clubs extended as far back as 1898, and that there had been a splendid association between the two clubs. Mr W. Forsyth, representing the Waikato-Thames Valley Bowling Centre, extended good wishes to the Cambridge Club, in the course of a short official opening of the green, which was held prior to the match with Hamilton. This opening was necessitated by the fact that the arranged ceremony for the previous week had had to be abandoned.
