Mrs R. J. Duncan, late of Hamilton, and now of Taumarunui, is visiting Auckland. Mrs R. M. Taylor, Thames, is visiting Hamilton. Mrs D. Meltzer, Auckland, is visiting Hamilton and staying with her daughter, Mrs J. Markham. Miss H. Brough, Hamilton, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Jeanette Ward is spending the week-end in Auckland. Miss M. Lovel has returned from a holiday in Helensville and Auckland.
The qualifying rounds for the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club championships and an L.G.U. medal competition were played last Wednesday at St. Andrews in perfect weather conditions. The senior players returned some good cards, the winner of the medal being Mrs W. Waring with 89—17—72. Other good scores were: Mrs O’Connor 86— 13—73, Mrs Seyb 81—7—74, Mrs Joy 90—16—74, Mrs Mander 85— 10—75, Mrs Batt 91—16—75. The junior medal was won by Mrs S. Bennett with 84—19—65. Mrs Hallett played one stroke under her handicap with 106—35—71, and other good scores were: Mrs Bryant 91— 19—72, Mrs Mills 93—20—73, and Mrs Masefield 97—23—74. The following qualified to play for the senior championship: Mrs Seyb, Mrs S. Bennett, Mrs Mander, Mrs L. I. Day, Mrs O’Connor, Mrs Waring, Mrs Joy, Mrs Batt, Mrs Rawlings, Mrs Thomas, Miss Ensor. The following qualified to play for the junior championship: Mrs Bryant, Mrs Mills, Miss K. Wilson, Mrs Knight, Mrs Masefield, Mrs Yendell, Mrs Signal, Miss Campbell, Miss Wilkinson, Mrs Luckie, Mrs Lorimer, Mrs Daldy, Miss Newell, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Simons, and Mrs Gamble.
