£898,133 TO DATE

DISTRICT’S RECORD DAY TWO CENTRES REACH QUOTAS A further record was achieved in the Victory Loan investments in the Waikato-King Country district yesterday when the sum of £41,670 was contributed, of which £10,520 was credited to Hamilton and £31,150 to the rest of the district. The district total to date is £898,133, or 47 per cent of the objective. Hamilton has subscribed £305,494, or 51 per cent of its allocation, and the rest of the district £592,638. Two centres attained their quotas yesterday, these being Te Mata and Ohaupo, making, with Raglan, three centres to have reached their goal. A noteworthy effort has been achieved by the children of the Hamilton West school, who have invested £205 in the loan during September. Messrs Buses, Ltd., have decided to put a further £2OOO into the Victory Loan, making in all a contribution of £4OOO from the company, directors and staff.
