GRAND BALL

£BO INVESTED IN VICTORY LOAN The grand ball hel*d in the Frankton Town Hall on Thursday night proved an outstanding success. “Cinderella’s” two ugly sisters (Messrs H. V. Bateman and W. S. Menzies) added merriment to the evening. Cinderella proved to be Mrs Spedding, who was presented with a pair of silver evening shoes. Mrs Helen Watson, of Hamilton, and Mr F. J. O’Neill, of Bruntwood, Cambridge, each received five £1 Victory Bonds for the “Vickery” monte carlo and Miss B. Peterson, of Hamilton, and Mr C. L. Harwood, of Frankton, were presented with Victory Bonds to the same value for the “Grocott” monte carlo. .The net proceeds totalled over £BO, which has been invested by the St. George’s Ladies’ Guild in the Victory Loan for the benefit of the St. George's vicarage fund.
