COAL SUBSIDIES

£1,224,030 DURING WAR WELLINGTON, Wednesday Subsidies for coal production and distribution have amounted to £1,224,030, states the Mines Statement, which was presented in the House of Representatives by the Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb. Payments for the 12 months to March 31 last were £510,642.
