MIDDLE EAST DRAFT Waikato members of the draft of men returned from the Middle East will arrive at Frankton Junction at 5.15 tomorrow morning. The reception arrangements will be the same as for previous drafts, with loud-speakers in operation for the direction of the men to their waiting relatives. For the return of the previous furlough drafts the station platform itself was closed to the public. Transport arrangements are in hand to convey the men to their respective destinations. Between 3*5 and 40 men ahe expected to leave the train at Frankton. INVASION OF HOLLAND LONDON. Sept. 17 Just before the take-off in Sunday’s airborne invasion of Holland General Brereton circulated to his men the following message: "You are taking part in one of the greatest airborne operations in military history. On the success of your mission today—on the navigation, flying skill and courage of the air crews and the skill, courage and speed of the landing force rests the difference between a quick decision in the west and a long-drawn-out battle. I know I can depend on you.” In the actual operation troops and equipment of every description were landed, and were in action against the enemy within a few hours, taking off from bases scattered all over southern England. Concrete news of the airborne forces’ operations in Holland is not expected for from 12 to 24 hours. Heavy fighting is going on in the Schneeifel Forest, four miles north-west of Prum. Farther south two penetrations were made in the Siegfried line, at Echternach and Bollendorf.
