Mr R. J. Deare, New Plymouth, is visiting Hamilton. Mr H. L. Palmer, Invercargill, is * visiting Hamilton. Mr E. G. Shearer, Lower Hutt, is in Hamilton. Mr J. H. Pettigrew, Stratford, is a visitor to Hamilton. Mr L. Hill, Dunedin, was in Hamilton to-day. Messrs Chester S. Kronfleld and Richard Towell, jnr.. New York, are in Hamilton. Messrs J. P. Flood and J. Linklater, Palmerston North, are visiting Hamilton. Mr H. H. Hornblow, stationmaster at Frankton Junction, is on leave. Mr J. Bennet, traffic inspector, is relieving at the station. Archbishop West-Watson, Primate ol New Zealand, has been invited to visit Sydney at the end of next month to confer with the Australian Board of Missions, and also to preach a>. General Synod. The Rev. A. Marshall, of Rotorua, has accepted a call from St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Oamaru, and will leave at the end of this month. The Rev. A. A. Armstrong, of Morrinsville, has been appointed interim moderator during the vacancy. Lieutenant (temporary Major) A. L. Tompkins, New Zealand Artillery, has been posted to the retired list with the rank of major, as from September 1, 1944, according to the Gazette. Lieutenant (temporary Captain) G. M. Watson, Waikato Regiment, is posted to the retired list with the rank of captain, dating from September 2, 1944. 41
