CROSSING SMASH
WOMAN VICTIM (By Telerrspn.—Press Auoelttlon) ASHBURTON, Monday A crossing smash in the borough this morning resulted in the death of Mrs Esme Preddy, whose husband is on active service overseas. Her mother, Mrs Ingram, was seriously injured and sent to hospital. A rake of trucks obscured the view, the engine of a goods train striking the car square on and carrying it a long distance.
