ANOTHER HEAVY FROST
RECORDING OF 16.9 DEGREES The district has been experiencing a series of heavy frosts for the p » t week, and this morning’s recording at the Ruakura Station showed 16.9 degrees. The record frost for this district was 17.7 degrees on Sunday morning last, and two days earlier the frost was 16.1 degrees. The previous record frost was 17.5 degrees on August 1, 1942. Today the weather was bright and fine, with very little breeze. The effect of the frosts in sweetening and breaking up the soil is appreciated by gardeners.
