COMMISSION GAINED
PILOT-OFFICER T. N. HEEPS Advice has been received by Mrs J Heeps, of Richmond Street, Hamilton, that her son, Flight-Sergeant T. N. Heeps, R.N.Z.A.F., has received a commission. Pilot-Officer Heeps left New Zealand two years ago for Canada for training. From there he went to the United Kingdom and was later posted to the Middle East.
Pilot-Officer is now serving in Italy. He is a son of the late Constable Heeps, of Morrinsville, and has a brother serving in the Pacific.
Pilot-Officer Heeps is well known in Hamilton, where he was a teacher at the West School before the war.
Advice has been received by Mr and Mrs J. W. Pentelow, of Monavale, that their fourth son, Pilot-Officer P. J. Pentelow, has recently received his commission in the Royal Air Force. He has been overseas about three and a-half years. He went through the Empire Training Schools in Canada, and for the past three years has been an operational pilot in England.
