LENGTH OF WAR

DETERMINATION OF JAPAN MELBOURNE, April 10 The Australian Minister of the Army. Mr F. M. Forde, said it was not likely that Germany would be defeated in the next 12 months and it would take two years to defeat Japan. The Tokio radio asserted that Japan was reckoning on 100 years of fighting if necessary. It said: “If the present generation cannot fulfil the job future generations will carry on. It is certain, however, that the Americans who expect an early end to the war will come away with a ‘flea in the ear.’ ”
