BEEF VALUES REMAIN FIRM The auctioneers report as follows on the Morrinsville stock sale yesterday:— Cattle: A medium entry of beef met with a firm demand, values remaining at recent quotations. A small yarding of boner cows maintained late rates. Empty Jersey heifers were penned in good numbers and a firm enpuiry existed for all heifers of quality. A small entry of dairy cattle comprising practically all heifers. Competition for good quality animals close to profit was keen, and recent advanced rates were maintained. Pigs: A medium yarding of fat pigs and a light entry of stores and weaners. Baconers and porkers remained firm at recent values but stores and weaners were slightly easier of sale. Quotations: Cattle.—Medium fat P.A. bullocks, to £l7 3s 6d: light, £l4 2s to £ls; good conditioned 3V.>-year P.A. steers. £l2 2s to £l2 14s; heavy fat cows. £8 15s to £9 12s 6d: medium, £7 10s to £8 8s; light fat cows and heifers. £6 to £7; boner cows, £3 to 4 15s; 2-vear empty Jersey ttoilers. £3 5s to £3 15s; good quality yearling Jersey heifers, £4 to £5 2s, medium yearling P.A. steers, to £5 2s: small yearling P.A. heifers, to £3 9s; good quality heifers close to profit, £l2 10s to £ls ss; medium, £ll to £l2; poorer conditioned, £9 to £10; calved heifers, £9 to £ll.
