GENERALS IN SICILY
EISENHOWER AND ALEXANDER (Received July 17, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 16 General Eisenhower and General Alexander have gone to Sicily. The Commander-in-Chief drove around in a jeep for a look round the front. General Alexander, who on Tuesday visited the American sector, travelled the island again yesterday and spent several hours ashore in the British sector, visiting General Montgomery at headquarters. He made the trip in a British destroyer.
