OBITUARY

MRS H. L. NIXON The death has occurred of Mrs Elsie King Nixon, wife of Mr H. L. Nixon, of Cambridge. Mrs Nixon was well-known throughout the Waikato as an exhibitor and judge at horticultural shows. Mrs Nixon, who was the youngest daughter of the late Mr Elisha Veale, of Cambridge, was closely identified with the social life of Cambridge for many years with patriotic activities, and an active worker in St. Paul’s Church. CANON A. W. PAYNE The death took place at the Vicarage, Levin, yesterday, of the Rev. Canon Arthur William Payne, late Warden of St John’s College, Auckland, aged 81.
