AIR ATTACKS ON BURMA (Omrm~ Wireless) (Received March 10, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, March 9 An India war communique states: In the last few days, in an effort to relieve the pressure on their fronts, smoe small Japanese units have infiltrated westward from the Kaladan River and have taken up positions along a forest ridge between Kanzauk and Auktaungbyin. Kanzauk is about 20 miles north-east of Rathedaung. On March 8 Royal Air Force bombers and fighters made several attacks on this ridge with good results. The majority of the bombs were seen to burst on the targets. In a low-level machine-gun attack some enemy gun positions were silenced and casualties were inflicted. All our aircraft are safe.
