EMERGENCY CIRCUITS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday In order to safeguard the Dominion’s overseas communications in the event of any loss of overseas cable due either to natural causes or enemy action, two emergency radiotelegraph circuits in each direction have been provided between New Zealand and Great Britain and two each way are now being established between New Zealand and the United States. This was announced by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, today. The radio terminals in New Zealand will be operated by the Post and Telegraph Department, and in the United States by R.C.A. Communications Incorporated and the Mackay Radio and Telegraph Company, respectively. The operation of the terminals in Great Britain will be the responsibility of Cable and Wireless, Limited, the company which is mainly responsible for Empire communications.
