CIVIC FUNCTION

The Oddfellows Hall was well filled on Monday night when a dance was held in honour of Leading-Air- j craftman R. J. Fuller. Dance music was played by Mrs P. j Connolly with extras by Mesdames ! W. Matangi, F. M. Tarplett, J. T. Hott and Miss Betty Sampson. A novelty waltz was won by Miss W. Cairns and Mr T. Brennan. On behalf of the committee, Mr H. D. Sampson presented the guest of the evening with a wallet and wished him good luck and a safe return. The Mayor, on behalf of the council, presented him with a badge with the good wishes of those present. Among those present were:—Mes- I dames R. H. Fuller, E. Fuller, F. Jack- ■ son, H. D. JOLLY EVFMNG A jolly evening was giver: in the Returned Soldiers’ Hall. Ngaruawah:a. recently by Mrs E. Fuller in ! honour of her grandson, Leading- I Aircraftman John Fuller. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs Tar- 1 plett and Messrs W. T. and E. H. : Fuller, with extras by Mrs A. Sutherland. Novelty waltzes were won ! by Leading-Aircraftman Fuller and : Miss Margery Little, and Mr N. j Cavanagh and Mrs H. Sodersten. ■ During the evening items were given <. by Messrs J. Hodgson and E. Fuller, ! Mr R. McFarlane and Miss June I Tarplett. A mystery parcel, which occasion- i ed much merriment, and eventually went to the guest of the evening, proved to be an inscribed cigarette case from the family. On behalf of the guests, Mr A.
