Mrs J. E. Cowles, Hamilton, has returned from a holiday in Auckland. Mrs F. Luxford, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Mrs J. W. Chapman, Hamilton, has left for Wellington on Women’s Institute business. Mrs Rex Gardiner, Matamata, has been visiting Mrs G. E. A. Wilkes, Hamilton. Mrs J. Scobie, secretary of the Waikato Federation of Women’s Institutes, is spending three weeks’ holiday with Mrs 1 D. Adamson, Ararimu. Mrs A. W. Shepherd, Rotorua, and Miss E. M. Smith, Auckland, are the guests of Mrs I. Owsley, Hamilton. Miss Joan Sergei, Hamilton, will leave shortly for a visit to Australia, where she will meet her sister-in-law, Mrs Carl Sergei, of Sarawak. Miss Phyllis Wilkins, of Hamilton, is visiting Napier. Miss Williamson, secretary of the Hamilton Y.W.C.A.. has accompanied a party of forty girls to the Chateau Tongariro, this week-end. Miss Annette Gillies returned to Hamilton last week from a visit to Wellington. Miss A. McLean. Auckland, returns tomorrow from visiting Mrs C. J. McLean, Hamilton. Misses Moira Collins and Patty Fox, Hamilton, are spending the week-end in Auckland. • • * * Sister Janet Doull, Napier, will be visiting Hamilton next week.
The secretary of the Technical Old j Girls’ Association has been busy receiving notification of attendance { from a large number of members for the annual dinner and social hour on Wednesday next at the Centreway i Tearooms, and a successful function is anticipated. A demonstration of spinning and a talk on its early history will be an interesting feature of the National Club afternoon on Tuesday, when an excellent musical programme will also be heard. The High School Old Girls’ As- | sociation have arranged an attractive ! programme for its re-union next Sat-* ' urday, including afternoon tea, and basketball matches at the school, and a dinner at the Centreway Tearooms. At the annual meeting of the Health and Beauty Movement Mrs V. ! Leathart was appointed president, Miss E. Ansenne, secretary- and Sister R. N. Stephens, Mrs J. Broad, Mrs B. Gilling. Mrs J. M. McNichol and Miss V. Johnson, committee. Classes are to be held every Thursday night and Miss Caroline 'Ward will visit Hamilton once a month. | CAMBRIDGE Mrs H. L. has returned to Auckland. Mrs S. Muir, who has been visiting Mrs Muir, sen., Thames, has returned to “Glenfern.” Mrs A. McGregor Grant, Auckland, is staying at the National Hotel.
