General Sir Guy Williams, military adviser to the Government, is visiting Auckland. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, member , of the War Cabinet, inspected Expeditionary Force soldiers in training at Papakura yesterday. Messrs F. Freeman (Wanganui), W. J. Pritchard (Wellington), H. H. Luckham, A. Turnbull and H. Somervel (Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr S. Y. Jones, chief private secretary to the Minister of Labour, retired on superannuation yesterday after 40 years' service in different Government departments. Mr S. Y.
