WEDDING IN SCOTLAND

HAMILTON GIRL’S ROMANCE ELAINE HAMILL MARRIED News came to hand this week that Elaine Hamill, the Hamilton girl who won success on the stage in her homeland, Australia and England, was married last week to Mr Murray Campbell Scarlett, of Dundee, Scotland. The Scarlett family own two enormous jute mills, of which Mr Scarlett is general manager. He is a prominent golfer and is described as being tall and of fine physique. When Miss Hamill left the Repertory Society, after 14 months, she was given an ovation on the last night. When she made a farewell speech she was cheered by the audience and handed many bouquets and gifts. Miss Hamill’s brother Warren, who was also bom in Hamilton, was killed

in an air action some time ago. His squadron-leader, writing to the young airman’s father, Mr J. A. Hamill, said that in Warren’s death he had lost not only a gallant and exceedingly capable airman but also one whom he was proud to call his friend.
