Mrs W. Aubrey Smith has returned to Hamilton from an extended visit to Christchurch. Mrs Cyril SutclifTe, Hamilton, was a recent visitor to Rotorua. Mrs M. Wiley, Hamilton, is on a visit to Auckland. Mrs E. Eben, Nelson, is visiting Hamilton. Mesdames E. Gibbons (Hawera), W. Boyd (Auckland), R. Alison (Wellington), and Misses H. M. Hughes (Waiuku), J. Reid (South Canterbury), S. Gibbons (Hawera), C. Gilchrist (Auckland), A. Rotherway (Auckland), A. Vaughan (Helensville), are at the Hotel Midland. Miss P. Euston, Auckland, is spending a holiday in Hamilton. TE AWAMUTU Mrs L. G. Armstrong has left for Dunedin where she will spend several weeks’ holiday. Mrs E. Walters, Manunui, is the guest of Mrs J. Taylor. Miss Joan Hagen, who is on furlough from Malaya, is the guest of Mrs A. R. Kay. Mrs M. Oates, accompanied by her daughter, Miss P. Oates, Te Mawhai, is holidaying at Rawiti Beach, Thames coast. Mrs J. Andrews, who formerly resided at Waitoa, has taken up her residence in Te Awamutu. Members of the Te Awamutu Post Office staff presented Miss A. M. Haybittle, who has retired after 31 years’ service, with a suitable memento as a token of esteem. Miss Haybittle has beon on the local exchange for the last 12 months. The meeting of the Kihikihi branch of the League of Mothers was held recently in the Town Hall, Mrs Sutherland presiding. Mrs L. Calder gave an interesting talk on the work of the City Mission in Auckland and social work among the Sydney poor. The birthday of the branch will be celebrated in June, when wives and mothers of soldiers of the district will be the guests.
