FOUR NAVAL VESSELS SUNK BY BRITISH FLIERS BOMBING OF BARRACKS (United Frees Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlrht) LONDON, Aug. 23 Four Italian naval vessels have been sunk by machines of the Royal Air Force in an attack on Bomba, near Tripoli, states a communique l'rom Cairo this morning. In a low-flying attack on vessels lying in the roadstead, the British machines succeeded in sinking two submarines, one destroyer and a submarine depot ship. The Italian defences put up a heavy barrage of anti-aircraft fire, but all the British machines returned to their base safely. A reconnaissance has been made of the Kenya*Somaliland frontier by the Royal South' African Air Force, and barracks at Assab have been bombed.
