SCHOOL GROUNDS
HAMILTON EAST SITE LAYING OUT OF AREA Although no information is available as to when the proposed boys’ high school at Hamilton East will be built, the Hamilton High School Board of Governors has been considering the question of laying out the grounds. At a meeting of the board yesterday, it was decided to ask the Director of Education whether he could appoint a landscape gardening expert and an architect to discuss the position with the board in Hamilton. Dr. H. Douglas pointed out that trees would have to be planted shortly if another year were not to be let pass before any planting was carried out. It was not so much a task for a landscape expert, considered Mr F. A. Snell, but rather a question of deciding where the buildings should be erected. Mr C. L. Mac Diarmid presided, and also present were:—Messrs F. A. de la Mare, J. Primrose, F. A. Snell, R. J. Bollard, H. M. Hammond, H. D, Tait (principal), R. English (secretary).
