NO PROPAGANDA

DISTRUST IN UNITED STATES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, August 23 The Minister of Information, Mr A. Duff Cooper, in a speech at the National Trade Union Club, said the Ministry of Information was refraining from propaganda in the United States on the ground that the truth must, ultimately, prevail. “There is a mistaken idea in the United States,” said the Minister, “that British propaganda drove America into the last war. “There is a profound distrust of British propaganda throughout the United States, although it is less now than a year ago. The Government has therefore decided to let the facts speak for themselves.”
