STRUCK BY TRAIN

ELDERLY WOMAN KILLED LEVEL CROSSING FATALITY ACCIDENT NEAR HUNTLY (Special to Times) HUNTLY, Friday Overtaken by the Taneatua express on a level crossing a short distance from Huntly this morning, an elderly woman was struck and killed instantly. The victim was: Miss Eleanor Brocklebank, aged 72, of Kimihia Road, Huntly. It is understood that Miss Brocklebank was very deaf. She lived with relatives, Mr and Mrs E. Simpson, of Kimihia Road, and was returning home when the accident occurred. She was carried a short distance on the front of the train, which was travelling south, and received extensive head injuries. The crossing leads off the Great South Road, less than a mile north of the Huntly Post Office, and is known as Meek’s Crossing. _.
