WAJIR BOMBED
ITALIANS DRIVEN OFF BRITISH FLIERS ACTIVE PENETRATION OF ABYSSINIA (Official Wireless) (Received August 16, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, August 15 A communique issued at Nairobi states: Yesterday Wajir was bombed by three Capronis. Several heavy bombs were dropped, causing no damage. At the time of the raid our fighters were in the air and immediately engaged the Capronis, which escaped in a low cloud. There was no activity by our ground troops. Our air reconnaissance penetrated deep into Southern Abyssinia.
