PACKING OF BUTTER EAST TAMAKI RESOLUTION (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Measures which he claimed would save storage and shipping space were put forward by Mr D. H. Renton at the annual meeting of the East Tamaki Co-operative Dairy Company today. He submitted a resolution urging the Dairy Division of the Agricultural Department to authorise the company’s factory to pack the standard butter boxes to their full holding capacity. He said that vacuum-made butter went into smaller compass and the standard box would hold 601 b. “If this were done there would be a saving of 8 per cent in storage space in Auckland and in shipping space on overseas boats,” Mr Renton said. The chairman, Mr T. D. Ormiston, said the matter had been put before the Dairy Division over 12 months ago, but without success.
The resolution was adopted and a deputation was appointed to present it to the interests concerned.
