HOMES IN CANADA

THOUSANDS ALREADY OFFERED BECOME WARDS OF CROWN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Aug. 14, 11.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, Aug. 13 The Minister of Resources, Mr T. Crerar, announced the formation of a National Advisory Committee to assist in placing English children. He said he would not be surprised if the movement of such children assumed considerable importance in the near future. Over 20,000 homes have already been offered, while, if necessary, Ottawa alone is capable of receiving 50,000 children. At present it is proposed that the children shall become wards of the Crown before leaving England. Up to now 4000 children have arrived in Canada.
