MOBILISATION OF NATION SUPREME DEFENCE COMMISSION EVEN CHILDREN TO SERVE > (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, April 6 The Rome radio today broadcast throughout Italy the first details of the reorganised Supreme Defence Commission. It set out 22 Articles indicating mobilisation plans for the entire nation. The commission is headed by Signor Mussolini and includes members of the Cabinet and the chiefs of the armed forces. It is responsible “for developing Italian resources and the activities of the nation for the achievement of victory.” The Council of Ministers has completed a plan which includes a provision under which women and children over the age of 13 are liable for mobilisation for factory work, anti-aircraft defence, etc., behind the lines. Chapman, has been invalided out of the Army owing to varicose veins, from which he has suffered / for many years. He joined the Honourable Artillery Company shortly after the outbreak of war. He and his wife intend to run a base hut for New Zealand troops, for which Mrs Chapman's father, Mr T. H. Lowry, gave £IO,OOO.
