RECORD HALF-MILE

HIGH SCHOOL PUPIL BREAKS TWO MINUTES What is regarded as a record halfmile for a New Zealand schoolboy and certainly a record for a boy of 16 was established by D. A. Dreyer, a pupil of the Hamilton High School, in an event prior to the school sports today. His time was lm 59 3-ss, 11s better than the previous best time for the race. Unfortunately only one stop-watch was available to time the race, but as it had been carefully checked the time is considered to be accurate. Two weeks ago Dreyer established a record at the annual Lteeplechase.
