SOCIAL NOTES
Mrs L. T. J. Thunder, Hamilton, left this week to make her home in Whangarei. Mrs D. Hay, Auckland, is visiting Hamilton. Mrs A. Buckingham, Hamilton, is spending a short holiday in Whangaiei. Miss H. Firth, Hamilton, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Miss Frances Morgan, Cambridge, leaves next week to take up a nursing appointment at the Auckland Hospital. Mrs H. Proctor, Wellington, is visiting Cambridge and is the guest of her mother, Mrs J. Morgan. Miss Joan Bremer, of “The Narrows,” Tamahere, has been visiting tba Mount, Tauranga. Misses Sybil and Thora Bremer, Tamahere, have returned from a holiday at Mount Maunganui. Mrs R. Bowie, Cambridge, left yesterday to take up her residence in Paeroa. TE KAWA Mrs G. Smaill, Ellerslie, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs S. G. Broadbent. Mrs Haycock, Eastborne. Wellington, is the guest of Mrs W. Benton. Miss M. Broadbent has returned to Te Kawa after a holiday spent'in Auckland. Mrs Beery, Whangarei, is the guest of Mrs I. Gudsell. Mrs E. Richards, Tauranga, who has been spending a holiday as the guest of Mrs R. Mexted, Te Kawa West, has returned home.
Even the young girls participated in the defence of Warsaw. Schoolgirls . are seen helping in the digging of trenches.
