NEW POST OFFICE

GOOD PROGRESS MADE ROOFING ALMOST FINISHED In spite of the inclement weather during Die past few months excellent progress has been made by the contractors engaged in the construction of tlie new Hamilton Post office. With the outside work almost completed a start will be made shortly with the interior, and already it is possible to gain some indication of the ultimate appearance of the structure. During the past few weeks work has been proceeding with the construction of . the roof, and it is expected that this will be finished by the end of the month. At present the plasterers are working on the first floor and the ceiling in this part of the building is rapidly taking shape. The facings of the building are being constructed of Hinuera sandstone and when this is completed in the near future the decorative design will he laid out, while a start is also being made with the six-feet base in the front of the office, which will be constructed of Coromandel granite. As tiie window frames come to hand they are being fitted and already several windows have been completed. When the roof is finished a start will be made with the flooring.
