dent Roosevelt, who is on a cruise on board a destroyer off the coast of Nova Scotia, says the Washington correspondent of the New York Times. The reports state that British, French and Polisli public opinion continues to run strongly against appeasement. It is anticipated that if there is a serious development Mr Roosevelt and the Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, who is also on holiday, will return to Washington immediately. General John Pershing, who returned today from a trip abroad, said that if war comes France is very well prepared. Her army is in excellent shape.
