Copyright) (Received Aug. 19, noon) LONDON, August 18 The Bratislava correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain reports that the radio station has announced that owing to the existing situation Germany has taken military possession of Slovakia. BERLIN, August 18 It is officially stated that Count Czaky did not see Herr Hitler. •Count Szaky left Salzburg by air for Rome to confer with Signor Mussolini and Count Ciano. DANZIG. August 18 M. Chodacki, Polish Commissioner in Danzig, and Herr Greiser, president of the lKinzig Senate, had a further conference. No communique was issued, MILITARY TREATY SIGNED GERMANY AND SLOVAKIA + PROTECTION TO BE GIVEN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 19, 11 a.m.) BRATISLAVA, August 18. It is revealed that Slovakia and Germany signed a military treaty on August 17, under which Germany assumes military protection of Slovakia. Further details have not been announced. Copyright) (Received Aug. 19, 3.45 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 18 The Times says Germany’s establishment of a military protectorate over Slovakia has not surprised London. It enables her to put further pressure on Hungary, while it strengthens and deepens the Reich's south-eastern hank in the event of war against Poland.
