LEMON USES
Lemons are a great standby to the housewife owing to their extensive range of usefulness, and should always be kept on hand in the kitchen. Lemons are unequalled for whitening and softening the hands. Squeezed lemons, even when the juice has been used for another purpose, w r ill soften the water and the hands. If lemon juice is added to weak tea it will effectively cure headache or seasickness, Rub a cut lemon over poultry; this will whiten the llesh and make it tender . Lemon juice will brighten the hair if added to the rinsing water of your sham poo. Use lemon juice and salt for removing ink stains or stains caused by ironmoulds ; if treated immediately, this will be found quite as effective as the poisonous salts of lemon The vitamin value in salad dressing is greatly increased b.v using lemon juice instead of vinegar. Instead of using inetal polishes when cleaning brass, try this method: Rub the brass with a cut lemon, leave it to dry for a little while, and wash in warm suds, polishing with a soft duster. This has the advantage over metal polishes of leaving no sediment in the cracks
