The No. 1 foreign seedings appeared to have the match well in hand, but Madame Mathieu cracked up. Bromwich also had a let-down in the final stages. MOTOR RACING MR JOHN COBB OPTIMISTIC BONNEVILLE, August 18. Mr John Cobb will attempt to make a record motor run on Monday. He said: “The car performed satisfactorily today. I did not extend it and I feel confident that I have the speed to break the record.”
