TRANSFER OF SURPLUS
FINANCE BILL PROVISIONS POWERS FOR DAIRY BOARD (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The transfer of last year's surplus of £809,000 from the Gonsolidated fund to tlie social security fund, as announced in Ihn budget, is effected by a clause in the Finance Bill which was introduced by Governor-General's message in ilie House, Tlic United Kingdom in's'll Commissioner in New Zealand, sir Harry Batterbec, and his otlicial staff are cxemplod by the Bill from all classes of taxation in New Zealand. The clause is retrospective to September 1 of last year. The powers of the Dairy Board are to be extended to empower it, with the approval of the Minister of Marketing, to incur expenditure for purposes that may be considered desirable by the -Minister in the interests of Hie dairy industry.
