POSITION OF RAMP

STRANDED PORT BOWEN VESSEL MOVES ANOTHER 12 FEET (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WANGANUI, Friday The weather and high tides are still presenting difficulties in preventing movement of the Port Bowen further along the beach. The position was made worse by the snapping last evening of one of the cables which are attached to the mushroom anchor and laid well out to sea. The vessel has moved a further 12 feet and the ramp built opposite No. 1 hold is now pointing at the direct, stern and will have io be diverted and moved forward. When the spring tides recede it will be possible to resume the unloading.
