TE AWAMUTU BCHOOL CELEBRATIONS IN JUNE (Special to Times) TE AWAI.MUTU, Thursday Further progress with the scheme for celebrating, the diamond jubilee of the Te Awamutu School was made this week, when u meeting- or the executive committee was held, .Mr U. S. Clarke, presiding-. .Messrs G. B. iMelrose and L. ! S. Armstrung- were asked to act as joint masters of ceremonies for the day. It was decided to start the celebrations on Saturday, June 3 at 10 a.m. at the infant school in Roche street with an hour’s reunion, thus giving all the oid pupils an opportunity lor meeting each oilier. Tln« will be lallowed by posing m gruups for photographs. A light luncheon will be served at noon m the town hall lor expupils wearing ullloial badges. J'liese badges will be in different colours for each decade, with tue name uT each wearer, for identiMcation purposes. Before luncheon mere will be a roll-call of pupils who hnished their schooling prior to December, iH2O. At 1.30 p.m. there will be me formal roll-call at the mam school In Teaadale street or pupil.- who attended that school at any time front its opening until they left. Provision is nut being made for present-da.v pupils. Two or three short addresses will follow, until 2.3 u p.m. and then there will be displays by present-day pupils, followed by items by the Municipal Band. In the evening a social and dance will be held in the town ball. Three days prior to the jubilee the new intermediate sellout will be olllcially opened by the .Minister of Education on Wednesday. May 31, and on Friday. June 2. the Rangiauhia -School will celebrate its jubilee. following are the colours of the ribbons and the years they donate: Red, 15771890; white. 1891-nmo; yellow. 19UI--1912; green. 1913-1921; blue, 19:»5- 1939.
