BETTER DEMAND IN LONDON REPORT OF DAIRY BOARD (By Te>er«Dn —Press Associations WELLINGTON, Wednesday Advices from London slate that there was an improved demand tor New Zealand butter at the close of last week. Choicest salted was sellin s at 11 is to 11 os per ewt.. a rise of about 6d over the week. The retail price has been reduced slightly to Is 2d per lb. The sharp drop of 6s in Danish butter resulted in a steadier tone. The Imperial Economic Committee has estimated stocks of all butter in store at 734,581 boxes, compared with 629,012 boxes a year ago. By arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing: Department the following information is supplied by the New Zealand Dairy B<.,ir<i for the week ended April 14, figures for the prevusw week being given in parentheses: — Butter.—New Zealand, salted, 114 s to 115 s (114 s. ; unsalted, 118 s (ilss). Deliveries: New Zealand, 1325 tons last year. 1727 tons : in store, 5977 tons (last year. 5335 tons). Australian, salted, 112 sto 113 s, up to 114 s (113 s ; unsalted. 114 s to 115 s 114 s to 115 s). Deliveries: Australian, 1337 tons last year, 1673 tons ; in store, 2851 tons (last year, 3586 tons . Danish, 105 s, 126 s to 127 s spot (Ills, 132 s to 1335). Danish retail, price. Is 4d per lb. Dutch, unsalted, 105 sto 107 s, extra, 110 s (109 s to Ills); Lithuanian. unsalted. 112 s to 114 s (Ills to 115 s); Polish, salted, 107 s (109 s to lIOs ; uns ilted, 107 s 110 s .
