EFFORT TO AVOID COLLISION (By Telegraph—Press Association) ASHBURTON, Friday Loris Stanley Harper (17), shop assistant, son of Mr and Mrs H. S. Harper, died in hospital as the result of injuries received on Saturday. Harper was on a motor-cycle and shot over the handle-bars when applying the brakes to avoid a collision with a motor-car in the borough. He struck a paved road with his head and shoulders.
