BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING EXTENSION OF SEWERAGE SYSTEM (Special to Times') M< >HRIN s V11.1.E, Friday. An extension of the Morrinsville sewerage system costing- about £c,oo for material is to be put in hand at once bv the Morrinsville borough Council. At la-t evening’s meeting the council received advice that the state Housing Department had made a contribution of £r’oo towards the work, which will enable the State houses nearing completion in George Street to be connected up with the borough sewerage system. A contribution of £-juo iTas also been promised From the Morrinsville High School authorities, as the sewer will serve the new school in Alexandra Avenue. Ratepayers or adjacent streets have promised contributions totalling about £2OO. The work will be carried out bv subsidised labour under the direction or tlm borough consulting engineer. Mr R. n. Horner, whose plans have been adopted by the council. The Mayor commented that this work would be carried out without any further expense to the ratepayers. Several applications for an extension or the sewerage system to serve other parts or the borough have also been received bv the council.
